My Brother John. Oil on panel, 2025.

I’ve been sketching my older brother John for as long as I can remember. In this painting he’s wearing a knitted sweater he recently inherited from my Mum.

This painting is on show at the Herbert Smith Freehills Portrait Prize exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London, June 25th - October 7th 2026.

The second image is an etching and drypoint from almost ten years before.
