This painting of my friend and fellow artist Yeside was exhibited at the 2024 Herbert Smith Freehills Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery.

The second image here shows my first preparatory sketch. This was a rare instance where I started with the hands, which I wanted to be a key focus of of my painting.

Yeside and her husband accompanied me to the private view. The fourth image in this slideshow is one of the official photos from that evening (copyright David Parry).
